Bramber Bears are One of a Kind artist bears and soft sculpture animals designed and handmade by myself, Kathryn Ann Galvin, from concept through to pattern and completed piece. Commissions are welcome and each piece is made with love, care and every attention to detail. I was delighted to win an Excellence in Bear Artistry Award 2019 for my Soft sculpture dog 'Heidi'.
Welcome to Bramber Bears! I have been making Bramber Bears since 2004. I am very lucky to work full time creating my artwork and have an incredibly artistic and supportive family.
I have three dogs, Erynn the Goldie, Phoebe the bearded Collie x Border Collie and Martha the Goldie. Every day we walk for two hours in the Sussex Countryside - whatever the weather! I love the Sea and its many moods and many of my bears are themed on the colours and essence of nature. I care for several rescue rabbits, these delicate little creatures are so gentle and beautiful and I make many rabbit bears as well as soft sculpture rabbits.
My work is fairly varied, and always One of a Kind. I especially enjoy making realistic dogs ( commission work is a real love of mine) as well as bears varying in size 2-10". Miniature mice, bunnies and bears made from carefully sourced miniature bear fabric and more traditional mohair creations made from only the highest quality German mohair. Beautiful silks, vintage linens and floral prints often feature.
